1839 urtean elkar besarkatu zuten Espartero isabeldarrak eta Maroto karlistak Bergaran, lehen Karlistaldiari amaiera emanez. Hori gogoratzeko urteurren ospakizunak egin ziren ondoko zenbait urtetan. Lehenengo urteurrenean Jose Ignazio Iztuetari enkargua egin zioten dantza talde bat presta zezan eta brokel-dantza eraman zuen. 1840ko brokel-dantza horren programa topatu dugu Koldo Mitxelena Liburutegian eta hona ekarri nahi izan dugu.
Udako solstizioa hainbat tokitan ospatzen da, baina gune batzuk oihartzun berezia izaten dute. Stonehengen, Ingalaterran, adibidez milaka lagun biltzen dira historaurreko megalito ikusgarrien inguruan eguzkiaren ezkutatze eta agertze orduetan. Morris dantzariak ere bertan izan ohi dira.
